Man hit by police Taser in Bolton died from stab wounds

The house on Salford Road in Over Hulton Police received reports that a man had barricaded himself in his Bolton home
A man from Greater Manchester who stabbed himself and was then Tasered by police died from stab wounds, a post-mortem examination has found.
Police were called to Philip Hulme's home in Salford Road, Over Hulton, Bolton on Tuesday evening after he barricaded himself inside with a knife.
They broke in, were threatened by Mr Hulme, who had stab wounds to his stomach, and fired a Taser at him.
The 53-year-old was taken to hospital but died soon after arriving.
The matter was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) by Greater Manchester Police, as a Taser was used.
